Alex Keating

Based in New York City, Alex had an early love of makeup and fashion. They used their mother’s Avon sample kit from six years old to recreate makeup looks from their mother’s Vogue Magazines. At seventeen, Alex took their first professional makeup artist job and now, they work globally as a celebrity groomer.
Actors, musicians, publicists, magazines, and entertainment studios trust them to provide the highest level of grooming, hair styling, and makeup with unparalleled expertise, discretion, and professionalism. Their highly attuned, empathetic nature allows them to create safe, intimate spaces for their clientele. With thirty-five years of experience in entertainment, fashion, advertising, and retail. They are a leading voice in the industry and often contribute to how-to and must-have articles. Their work has appeared in GQ, British GQ, Vanity Fair, Vogue, L’uomo Vogue, Vogue France, Esquire, and British Esquire. As a multidisciplinary artist, craftsperson, and musician, they also collaborate with other artists. In 2011, they collaborated with multimedia visual artist Heather Cantrell on a video project entitled The Looker , installed at Human Resources Gallery in Los Angeles. They were also co-producer on a project with multimedia artist Patrick Lakey entitled An Abyss of Folly , which opened at the Los Angeles gallery The Happy Lion in April 2007.
They volunteer with The Trevor Project as a digital crisis counselor and recently graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from The City College of New York.
