Creative and ambitious from his earliest years, Yusef spent hours watching his mother – an entertainer and stunningly stylish woman - doing her hair. Inspired by a multi-ethnic Miami culture and his father a famed music producer, creativity was forever flowing. At age 9, with a child­hood full of performance, imagination and beauty inspirations, Yusef began experimenting with hair and never looked back.
 
Yusef’s career began formally backstage at the New York fashion shows as an apprentice to world-renowned hair stylist Odile Gilbert. His early work was bold and notable, and created an entrée into the rarefied world of Paris shows that included Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Dior, Gucci and Christian Lacroix. His muses included the industry’s most stunning faces from Naomi Campbell to Joan Smalls, Adrianna Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Bella & Gigi Hadid and so many more. These accomplishments quickly led to Yusef’s status as one of the industry’s leading A-list hair stylists where he remains today.
 
Between seasons, Yusef set his vision to wigs, hair weaving techniques and clean innovative hairstyling which set him apart from the rest. His mastery in these areas of hair and inventive conceptual looks, is why he is one of the most sought out hairstylist in fashion and beauty.
 
Throughout his career, Yusef has worked with marquis brands, photographers, magazines and celebrity clientele, including (to name only a few) photographers Mert & Marcus, Inez & Vinoodh, Paolo Roversi, Steven Klein, Tim Walker, Mario Testino and Annie Leibovitz and celebrities such as Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Selma Hayek, Viola Davis, Saoirse Ronan, Normani and Lizzo. His work has appeared in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, W, i-D, V Magazine and in advertising campaigns for Dior, Louis Vuitton, Balmain, Armani and all Fenty Brands.
